Health coverage for you and your family.
Marketplace plans are health insurance for people who don’t get coverage through a job, Medicare, or Medicaid. Depending on your income, a tax credit can lower what you pay each month. We help you understand your options and enroll.

Marketplace Open Enrollment November 1 to January 15, 2027 · starts in 18 days
Every dateWho the Marketplace is for
In Alabama, the Marketplace is HealthCare.gov. These are the people we help there most.
- People who work for themselvesSelf-employed, contract, and gig workers who cover their own insurance.
- People between jobsWhen a job, and the coverage that came with it, ends.
- Families without job coverageParents and children on one plan, or coverage for the kids alongside ALL Kids.
- Early retirees under 65Coverage to bridge the years before Medicare starts.
- People leaving MedicaidWhen Medicaid or ALL Kids ends for someone in your family.

When you can enroll
Open Enrollment runs each fall. For 2027 coverage it is November 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. Enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1; from December 16 to January 15, coverage starts February 1.
Outside Open Enrollment, a life change can open a Special Enrollment Period, usually 60 days: losing other coverage, moving, getting married, or having or adopting a baby.

Working for yourself, or between jobs
If your coverage came from a job you left, losing it usually opens a 60-day window to enroll in a Marketplace plan. Don’t wait for November.
If you work for yourself, a Marketplace plan may be the simplest way to cover you and your family. Your expected income for the year decides whether a tax credit can lower your cost, so we walk through that number with you first.
Coming off Medicaid
When Medicaid or ALL Kids coverage ends, you usually have a window to enroll in a Marketplace plan. Call us when the notice arrives, not after the coverage stops.
Some families have members on different coverage: children on ALL Kids or Medicaid, parents on a Marketplace plan. We help you see how the pieces fit together.
